Description

A coffee mug with the theme of the Innovation-Decision process, in business :

The ceramic coffee mug that we sell is printed with a logo that evokes the process of Innovation and Decision, in business.

But perhaps you are wondering what this Innovation-Decision process consists of?

In business, the innovation process is mainly broken down into 5 phases:

  • the idea collection phase (or ideation phase):

During this phase, techniques such as Brainstorming, the TRIZ method, the discovery matrix (also called heuristic matrix) or biomimicry (inspiration from Biology) can be used to detect market opportunities.

The use of diversity also promotes the debate of ideas because it increases collective intelligence, while reducing cognitive biases.

It should be noted that diversity may be gender diversity (as many men as women participate in the debate of ideas), diversity of ethnic origin (to compare different cultural points of view, for example), generational diversity (to confront the ideas of senior participants with those of junior participants, for example) or quite simply a diversity of professional backgrounds.

However, it will be necessary to ensure, during this stage, that the working atmosphere is neither too restrictive (so as not to curb the imagination of the participants), nor too lax (so as not to collect too far-fetched ideas).

In order to ensure that each idea collected is original and thus to respect Industrial Property, it is necessary to carry out a patent watch, that is to say a search for prior art on invention patents.

  • the conceptualization phase:

During this phase, the ideas collected are analyzed;

Before being stored in a main knowledge base, certain ideas may be combined with others or, if they have similarities, be classified by category.

Finally , ideas presenting no interest a priori can still feed an additional knowledge base , with a view to possible use in future projects .

All that remains is to develop the concept of the innovative project, based on the ideas retained and stored in the main knowledge base but also according to the potential customers and the objectives that the company wishes to achieve.

  • the feasibility study phase of the project:

This step consists in creating a prototype of the project (that is to say, a model) and confronting it with the stakeholders of the project, in order to determine if it is viable.

The experimentation could for example consist of testing the model locally and then, if the results are conclusive, over a larger geographical area.

At the end of this test, the proven functionalities as well as the real performance criteria of the project must be specified.

  • the deployment phase of the project:

If the project concerns a product or service innovation then this phase corresponds to the industrialization phase of this product or service.

If the project concerns a process innovation or an organizational innovation then this phase corresponds to the phase of integration of new production methods (or even organization), within the company.

  • the piloting phase of the Innovation project:

During this phase, the performance criteria of the Innovation project are analyzed and feedback from stakeholders is collected.

It is therefore (just like in the test phase) a monitoring and learning phase but, this time, on a large scale.

Why not an Arabica coffee ?

Arabica coffee takes its name from the coffee tree which originally served to produce the coffee beans from which it is prepared; the Arabian coffee tree.

It is a shrub found in the Arabian Peninsula but also in some countries of East Africa, Central America or South America.

The cultivation of the Arabian coffee tree is optimal at high altitudes and allows the production of coffee beans which have the reputation of giving taste and aroma to the final coffee.

(Obviously, this all depends on how the Arabica coffee beans were roasted)

It should be noted that Arabica coffee also has the particularity of containing half as much caffeine as its main competitor; Robusta coffee.

On the other hand , its taste is sometimes more acidic than the latter .

There are different varieties of Arabica coffee, including Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, Supremo Colombiano coffee, Tarrazù coffee, Antigua coffee and Sidamo coffee.

Many beverages are made from Arabica coffee beans.

Let us mention in particular:

  • coffee with Hielo:

Café con Hielo is the Spanish version of iced coffee.

This refreshing and thirst-quenching drink, ideal for summer, is also known as “frappé coffee” or “Espresso Shakerato coffee”.

This coffee can just as well be prepared from a soluble coffee as from an Espresso coffee.

However, in the case of Espresso coffee, baristas tend to favor a specialty coffee.

In any case and in moderation, baristas usually add sugar syrup to reduce the bitterness.

  • cold brew coffee:

Cold brew coffee has the originality of being prepared in special coffee makers, such as the French press.

In this type of coffee maker, the ground coffee macerates in water for several hours (usually between 10 and 24 hours).

And this , in a cold environment , such as for example a refrigerator .

It is recommended to use a coarse sized coffee grind, to prevent some of it from ending up in the extracted beverage.

  • Kopi Luwak coffee:

Kopi Luwak coffee is a popular coffee in Asia and is mainly produced in the Indonesian archipelago.

As curious as it may seem, this coffee drink has the particularity of being made from the excrement of Luwak, an animal related to the Asian civet.

This animal poorly digests the coffee cherries which then end up in the animal’s excrement, devoid of their pulp but with coffee beans still intact because they are protected by their core.

Once harvested, washed, dried and roasted, these coffee beans (again edible) are ground and their active ingredients are extracted by infusion.

Due to the complexity of its production, this coffee is a rare and expensive drink; baristas estimate that its price averages around €500 per kilo.

  • Kopi Susu coffee:

Kopi Susu coffee is a popular latte in Asia, especially Malaysia.

It is a drink made from coffee (Espresso coffee or soluble coffee), milk and sugar (palm sugar or brown sugar).

This coffee can optionally be served iced.

  • the coffee with milk :

Coffee with milk (as its name suggests) is made from milk which, depending on its quantity and nature (whole milk, semi-skimmed milk, vegetable milk, sweetened condensed milk, etc.), modifies its color and taste.

There are several variations of café au lait, such as Café Latte, Café Macchiato or Café Con Leche.

  • Con Leche coffee:

Con Leche coffee is an Espresso coffee with milk, popular in Spain.

To prepare it, the barista boils 15 ounces of water in a saucepan, pours in 2 tablespoons of ground espresso coffee and lets it steep.

After which, he pours this coffee drink into a coffee mug, filtering the coffee grounds using a sock filter or a reusable cloth tea filter, for example.

Next, the barista boils four ounces of milk in the saucepan, to which he adds a teaspoon of brown sugar.

Finally, he pours the sweetened milk into the coffee mug and just has to serve it.

  • Marrochino coffee:

Marrochino coffee is a drink made from espresso coffee, milk froth and cocoa powder.

To make this type of coffee, the barista begins by preparing a simple short Espresso coffee, using an Espresso coffee machine that may have an integrated grinder.

At the same time, he creates milk froth using the milk frother of his coffee machine or an electric milk frother.

Then he pours the Espresso coffee mixed with cocoa powder into a coffee mug, filling the mug two-thirds full.

The remaining third of the coffee mug is completed with milk froth, sprinkled with cocoa powder.

All the barista has to do is serve the Marrochino coffee in an 11 oz or 15 oz coffee mug, for example.

You may have found in this list of Arabica coffees the inspiration that will allow you to prepare a quality coffee for your guests or for yourself.

Do not hesitate to order our Geek mug to drink your coffee, possibly thinking about the innovative projects you are going to undertake!
